We went to the Abilene Zoo this past weekend and everyone had a great time. This zoo is small so it was a good "starter" zoo. It took us about an hour to see everything. They are doing some construction so it looks like they are trying to expand which would be good.

Daddy and Ethan in front of the flamingos. Those crazy birds started to fight with each other...it was pretty funny.

Daddy and Ethan looking at this bird (we think a type of cockatoo). Ethan was happy daddy was tall enough for him to see the bird while holding him.

One of the most exciting parts of the trip for Ethan was the "waterfalls" (fountains) at Nelson Park. He could see them from the zoo so he was really excited.

Ethan's other favorite part was feeding the ducks and catfish at the pier. They had special crackers you can purchase to feed the animals and Ethan used the whole pack just for them. Forget the animals....he had to feed the ducks and catfish instead!! He is just too funny!

Lahna just chilling in her stroller...she about had enough because it was VERY HOT & HUMID which is not normal up here.

Daddy & Ethan watching the ostrich attack the fence...apparently one of the kids farther over in the picture was trying to give it one of those crackers and the ostrich wasn't patient.

My favorite part was the giraffes...look at these amazing animals. They are so tall and so pretty. This one was eating some sticks they had chained to the bridge. We walked to the top of the bridge and you could watch the giraffes eat.

Lastly, here is a picture of Ethan and me in front of the jaguars.
