This past weekend Ross and I took the kids to Laughlin, NV for a little stay at Harrah's since it was Ethan's spring break. We had a great time going through Lake Havasu looking at the beautiful scenery, taking boats rides to the different casinos in Laughlin, and driving down old Route 66 on our way back home.

All smiles on the water taxi!

We took at sightseeing tour down the Colorado River and learned a lot of history behind each casino. Very interesting!!
Looking at the water from the tour boat.
Lahna was all tuckered out....
Ethan loved looking at the scenery all around!

Route 66...look at those beautiful mountains!
Oatman was a mining town long ago and it still exists today. It is along Route 66 and this little town has an interesting tidbit about it....the burros come down from the mountains during the day and stand in the street waiting for people to feed them. At the end of the day the burros go back into the mountains and come back the next day. The burros were used long ago in the mining industry and were let loose when the mines shut down. Well the burros still come to town to this day and they legally have the right away in the town. So if you see a burro, you have to stop and wait on them to move. You might be there a while if there's a stubborn one! :)

This is a picture of a Joshua Tree outside of Wickenburg, AZ. There is an area where Joshua Trees grow along Highway 93 and it's called Joshua Tree Parkway. It is considered a scenic route, I would imagine because these trees are very different looking. You definitely cannot miss them!
